Meet the Fray Music Academy dream team behind our amazing group of musical students
Jared Fray
FMA Director & Guitar Tutor
Jared is the co-founder and tutor of Fray Music Academy. He has been in the music industry for twelve years, and has been teaching music at various music schools for the past eight years. His students have ranged from the age of 4-years-old and up. He is passionate about music and teaching and loves to share that passion with his students. Jared studied contemporary music at Damelin Bramley, and jazz & popular music at Tshwane University of Technology.
Kimberly Fray
FMA Director
Kimberly is the co-founder of FMA. She is also a writer, poet and blogger of www.wordsinverse.com. She has a degree in journalism from the University of Johannesburg and works at eNCA as a news producer . She deals with managing schedules, administration, setting up events and running the marketing for Fray Music Academy.
Karabo Lebatsi
Piano Tutor
Karabo Joshua Lebatsi has been playing piano for over 10 years. He has played in South Africa and performed in Botswana and Zambia. He plays Gospel, Jazz, Hip-hop and a bit of Classical. Karabo also has experience in teaching piano, and is very good with teaching children.
Bontle Mfikwe
Vocal Tutor
Bontle is a music graduate whose passion for music is one that is undeniable. She only wants to share her knowledge and skills with others that have a similar love and excitement for music. Her knowledge in music coupled with her bubbly and friendly nature is what makes her lessons fun, educational and inviting. Besides piano and vocals, Bontle also has acquired skills in performance and songwriting and she makes sure to impart her knowledge from these additional skills as well.
Tshegofatso Mokgetlwane
Piano Tutor
Tshegofatso Mokgetlwane is young South African musician who was born and raised in Tembisa, Gauteng taught piano by his father played at church until he had his first formal music education at the NTINGA MUSIC and arts academy in 2016. In 2017 he got to be part of the Taiwa Jazz Band under the leadership of Ntate Jerry Molelekwa. In 2018 he enrolled with Tshwane University of Technology studying Diploma in Jazz and popular music and performed with many other popular artists. In 2022 he completed his advanced diploma with Tshwane University of Technology and later started working as a tutor for FMA.
Tshepo Thantsha
Piano Tutor
Tshepo Thantsha is a Musician based in Kempton Park, in the East Rand of Gauteng. He is a pianist and passionate piano tutor who teaches both theory and practical piano technique, from beginner level to advanced piano in Jazz and popular music. Tshepo started playing piano from a church setup, where he learned to play basic piano and songs. He then went studied Jazz and Popular Music Performance with Central Johannesburg College (CJC) TVET, in 2016, and graduated in 2018. He started working under Psalmist Productions in 2015 as a volunteering assistant producer. He then started stage performance as a pianist/keyboardist with local and popular groups. He ministers in his local church.
Sharonice Baaitjie
Piano and Vocal Tutor
Sharonice is a musician and music teacher (vocals and piano) who fell in love with music as a child but has been full-time in music for the last 5 years. She graduated with her Diploma in Music in 2022 and has put it to use by teaching and performing. She has had the opportunity to perform with different artists and musicians and aspires to be a solo musician in her own right. Sharonice’s passion for people and music is what makes her a great teacher. She pays attention to each student and makes sure that the needs of the students are met. She is also open to learning and adapting her methods to ensure that the student has the best outcome.
